The Alchemy of Outdoor Lighting with Vibia

Nature stimulates our senses, brings us alive and intensifies our emotions.

Exterior lighting helps extend not only the spaces we inhabit into nature but also the time we spend there. With the help of well-designed light fittings and lighting schemes we can create a continuity between these very different worlds. The following lighting collections from Vibia don’t distinguish between inside and outside, they shape atmospheres, carving out spaces where life is lived. Out

The unmistakeable silhouette of Out adds a slick and stylish presence to exterior dining spaces or relaxation areas. Designed by Víctor Carrasco for Vibia the cantilevered cone of light throws a soft diffused light over moments shared with family and friends. A counterweight anchors the fitting firmly to the ground while the conical shade floats in space.

The design evokes rational logic by day with its clean-cut fluid lines transforming into an emotion of intimacy at night, outlined by pools of light.

Class

The fluted glass of the Class floor lamp designed elevates the merely functional into something more poetic. This eye-catching light fitting designed by Sebastian Herkner is an elegant solution to lighting paths and defining terrace zones. The glass diffusers can be aligned individually or paired at the edges of circulation routes, hugging the ground plane. Or alternatively the taller version is elevated, totem like, occupying space in a statuesque manner.

A warm lighting radiates across vertical planes, washing the textures of rough external surfaces with a distinctive glow.

Dots Outdoor

The beauty of external spaces and landscapes takes on an entirely different quality at night. Designer Martín Azúa keeps the light source close to the ground with Dots Outdoor, a self-effacing collection of lamps that throw indirect light over their surroundings. The subtle low-level glow throws a 360° radial light across decking, lawns and other outdoor finishes. These surfaces take on a magical quality while equally signalling limits and boundaries in a functional manner.

The lighting provides a warm glow to accompany get togethers or intimate evenings, never trying too hard, but just there creating an ambience.

Dots Glass

Tiny and compact, Dots Glass integrates within any outdoor environment, its soft circular layers highlight the texture of a wall or facade. Installed as a single star in the dark or combined with other elements from the Dots collection to create a mix of lights, the new glass diffuser adds a delicate aesthetic.

Brisa

The Brisa lamps are a Lievore, Altherr, Molina design for Vibia. The design was inspired by the forest blue bell flower which adds to its easy integration within the garden environment and its accoutrements. The Brisa collection provides a focused beam of intense and warm light over exterior areas that require superior levels of illumination.
